Data processed by Source Lens

Source Lens may locally read information displayed on supported Google Search and Google AI Mode pages in order to provide its functionality. This may include:

• the current search query;
• citation links and URLs;
• visible publisher or creator names;
• source and citation metadata displayed on the page.

This information is used only to identify and annotate cited sources and to provide source-environment features.

Local processing

Source Lens processes this information locally in the user's browser.

Source Lens does not send search queries, browsing activity, citation information, or page content to the developer or to a Source Lens server.

Source Lens does not operate a backend server for collecting user data.

Data collection

Source Lens does not:

• collect or store users' browsing history on an external server;
• sell user data;
• use user data for advertising;
• use user data for profiling;
• share user data with third parties;
• use analytics or tracking services;
• collect personally identifiable information.

Temporary extension state may be stored locally in the browser when necessary for features such as remembering the requested source environment.

Remote code and AI services

Source Lens does not download or execute remote code.

Source Lens does not send user queries to an independent AI or translation service. Source-language presets are static instructions supplied to the AI search system the user is already using.

Website access

Source Lens requests access to supported Google Search pages only so that it can detect AI-generated answers, inspect their visible citations, and display source-provenance annotations.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if Source Lens gains new functionality or changes how it processes information.
